Changan CS95 Lives Up to Expectations All the Way to The Farm at San Benito | Motourismo

The Changan CS95 arriving safely at The Farm at San Benito in Lipa, Batangas.

Ending the year 2020 is not going to be so bad, after all, at least for some of us who had the privilege to test-drive a vehicle among the five Changan models that were re-launched a month ago. Changan Motor Philippines, Inc. (CMPI) recently held an intimate media drive for a day of relaxation at The Farm at San Benito, located in Lipa, Batangas.

Much as we wanted to have a bigger group, Changan Philippines were following strict protocols due to the pandemic. The Farm at San Benito is a very good choice for this media drive, for it claimed that we are naturally protected from Covid-19 within the 10-hectare property surrounded by trees and foliage.

Together with my partner, Monch Henares of Monchster Chronicles, we were assigned the Changan CS95, a mid-sized crossover SUV to drive to Lipa. We took turns in driving it, and we both enjoyed the experience of this 2.0 L Turbo, with 6-speed automatic transmission. It runs on gasoline, as all China-made cars are. Speaking of which, we are actually getting more impressed with China's Research and Development when it comes to improving new car models, just like many brands you see on the roads today. By all means, Changan is the brand to watch in 2021.

This good-looking CS95 is a head-turner, and easy to drive.

We were pleasantly surprised to see this good-looking Changan CS95, in white with a black accent. Definitely top of the line among the Changan models, which is composed of the Alsvin sedan, the CS35 Plus sub-compact crossover SUV, and the CS75 Plus compact crossover SUV. The CS95 mid-sized crossover SUV truly lived up to our expectations, comparable to the leading mid-sized crossover SUVs in its class.

Top-of-the-line Changan CS95 boasts of technologically advanced features geared for convenience, and safety.

The Changan CS95 has the largest body size comparing to the same-class vehicles and is available in a 7-seater model. Since it was just the two of us riding it, we somehow expected it to be clanky, but the suspension was very good. We had a smooth drive even through humps and bumps of provincial town roads. The vehicle's overall space was good and comfortable.

Did I tell you how we accelerated through the Star Tollway? Conscious of the speed limit, we still felt the engine's power, with the turbo kicking in for a few moments of bliss. Monch and I enjoyed the 12.3-inch infotainment system, the 10-inch digital cluster, and our all-time fave, the panoramic moonroof.

The 360-degree camera at work.

Among many others, our favorite intelligent technology feature is the advanced assistant driving function. It assures our safety, especially when driving in expressways, and high-speed road conditions. Thanks to the 360-degree camera, we get added safety, and convenience.  The 90-minute drive was time well-spent in discovering the Changan CS95, while having fun taking photos in the scenic route along the way.

Changan relaunched these models; the Alsvin, CS35 Plus, CS75 Plus, and the CS95.

Speaking of safety, we had a swab test upon arrival at The Farm at San Benito. All guests were required to fill up a health declaration form, and the in-house doctor (Dr. Michelle Carbonel) administered the test. We got the results after 15 minutes. I am happy to be negative as all of us in the group were. Guests who test positive will not be allowed to enter the property.

We prepared ourselves to be vegan for the day, think healthy, and embrace the beauty of mother nature. The Farm at San Benito is a high-end wellness retreat tucked in Lipa City’s lushly-vegetated interiors which offers holistic treatment, including plant-based gourmet food.

Our natural healing journey began with a vegan breakfast at Alive restaurant. We were then given a tour of the facilities headed by The Farm's Medical Director, Dr. Susana Balingit. Later on, while some of us joined the Yoga Class, the rest of the group attended the Mandala Flower Meditation.

We also experienced acupuncture treatment given to us by Dr. Radi Apostol, the fun Neuro Release exercises by Dr. Michelle Carbonel, an interesting Lifestyle Coaching by Dr. Cherry Raneses, and an enlightening discussion about Nutrition by Dr. Balingit. These were all but a glimpse of The Farm's Preventive Health and Integrative Medical Wellness Program.

"It's a small get-together, and it is better this way. I hope that everyone will have a blessed Christmas 2020, and a brighter 2021," said Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo, President and CEO of CMPI. She personally chose The Farm at San Benito for us to experience, with the good organization of Kriska Mae Ramos and Eda Goloy.

It was a thanksgiving activity as well, grateful that everyone in our group was healthy, and in good spirits, despite the difficult year. This trip was a good ending to a challenging year and a way of revving up for a better 2021.

It was truly a much-needed R&R at The Farm discovering wonderful Changan vehicles and meeting good people along the way.
